The Minutes of the meeting held on the 14th November were agreed.  Proposed by Cllrs Champion and Barrett .

Matters arising

The clerk had spoken to the planning department of Swale Borough Council who had apologised for not sending all decisions, the schedule had been updated.

Planning Applications

  • SW/06/0206   Change of use from Agricultural land to residential at Yew Tree Villa, Lynsted Lane.  After some consideration the Parish Council did not object to this application.  It was concerned, however, at the continual loss of high grade agricultural land in the parish, which is contrary to the spirit of Policy E12 of the Swale Local Plan.
  • TC/06/0026     Remove Conifer hedge at Well House, Cellar Hill, Lynsted. The Parish Council did not object to this proposal provided that native species i.e., Holly and / or Yew were used as a replacement to the existing. This would be in line with Para. 40 of the Lynsted Design Statement.

Planning Decisions by Swale Borough Council

SW/06/9 Creation of a bus layby to provide safe dropoff/pick up point for pupils at Lynsted and Norton Primary School has planning approval from Kent County Council

Affordable Housing Site

The clerk would ask Graham Thomas for three suitable dates for a walkabout , one of these should be agreeable to Teynham and Lynsted Parish Councillors.

Any Other Planning Business

The caravans at the Vicarage have been reported to Swale Borough Council

The Caravans at The Cherries have an enforcement notice which has expired. They should be moving soon but as this is the first of its kind in Swale the planning department were unsure how and when this would happen

The clerk would follow up the planning application for Toll House which has not been received.

The downgrading of the Design Statement would be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting.

The meeting closed at 8.45PM.
