Highlights from the Parish Council meeting of 22nd January, 2008.
After a year’s gap, we are pleased to re-instate, by popular demand, our regular digest of the main points coming out of our Parish Council meetings. Readers should note, however, that although the items are published early by this means, they are subject to confirmation at the following meeting. Full ‘official’ details are available after the minutes are agreed as a true record, and signed by the chairman.
1. New Clerk. Charles Bennett was introduced to members, and warmly welcomed to the Parish Council.
2. Community Orchard management. Now that the Lottery Fund grant had been spent on setting up the Orchard as a community resource, it was agreed that fresh terms of reference were needed to manage it as a continuing concern.
3. Planning. The following applications were discussed at Planning Committee meetings of 12th November, 11th December and 2nd January:

-SW/06/0524,0525,0526 and0527. Alterations at ‘Jeffries’, Claxfield Road. Appeal denied.
4. Alleged breach of Code of Conduct. Three members of the Parish Council had been reported, by a parishioner, to the Standards Board for England, for allegedly not complying with the Code of Conduct by failing to declare an interest in an item at a Parish Council meeting.
5. Parish Plan: Greenstreet Improvement. The revised Constitution of the joint agreement between Lynsted with Kingsdown, and Teynham, Parish Councils was agreed by our Parish Council.
NOTE. Full minutes, once signed and adopted, are available for inspection at Teynham Library, on this Parish Council website www.lkpc.org.uk, or by arrangement with the Clerk (phone 476 606).
