Planning Applications considered
SW/03/1295Porch at Woodthorpe Cottage, London road, Lynsted
This was an amended plan. The original had not been objected to by the Council. It was felt that the structure produced in the new drawings would conflict with the simple lines of the existing house, the original comments still applied.
SW/04/0548 Kitchen and Bedroom extension at 208 London Road, Lynsted
The council had no objection to this application. Matching materials as per paragraph 30 of the Lynsted Design Statement would be requested.
SW/04/0552 Extend porch, studio and loft conversion to 2 ensuite bedrooms, at ‘Sheerluck’, Lynsted Lane
The Council found the application quite difficult to follow, however, it raised no objection. The design of the new gates were smart. The Council felt that they may be better set back a little such that cars wishing to use the driveway have some space to park before opening them while not affecting the traffic on Lynsted Lane
Any Other Planning Business
It was reported to the Council that the owners of Japonica Cottage had removed the Victorian Gates at the front and tarmaced/gravelled the garden. The Clerk would ask S.B.C. whether this required planning permission.
The Seminar attended by Cllrs Baxter and English indicated that design was increasingly being paid regard to, indicating the importance of the Design Statement.
Cllr Baxter reported that blank planning applications may not always be requested from S.B.C., applications need certain information that does not necessarily require a form, this means that a Parish Design Statement will not be sent out to all those who want to make changes to their property. S.B.C. always give then out when asked for advice in this area. It was agreed that the Clerk should distribute them when requested, a note at the end of the planning agenda would indicate this.
It was agreed that for the next six months at least the planning agenda would be sent to all householders whose application is being considered.
The Headteacher of Lynsted and Norton School had been approached by a representative of the Gypsey site at Claxfield Lane. As a result they would be supporting any appeal for them to stay at that site in order that the education of the children should not be disrupted.
There being no other important planning business the meeting closed at 8.40PM
