Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee held on 4th September 2007 at the Belle Friday Centre, London Rd, Lynsted.
Members Present:
Councillors: R. Baxter [Chair] H. F. Champion, A. Dawes, Y, Bowling.
1. Apologies for absence.
Apologies were received from Councillors J. Disney, T. English.
2. Time set aside for members of the public to address the Committee
There were no members of the public in attendance
3. Declaration of interest.
Councillor Dawes declared an interest in item 5.1 application SW/07/0968 and would leave the . meeting when this item was discussed.
4. To confirm the minutes of the Planning Meeting of 29th August 2007.
It was proposed by Councillor Bowling seconded by Councillor Dawes that the minutes be as a true record and unanimously agreed they being duly signed by the Chairman.
4A.Matters arising.
There were no matters arising.
5. To consider the following planning applications. Councillor Dawes left the meeting.
5.1 Application SW/07/0968.
After deliberation it was proposed by Councillor Bowling seconded by Councillor Champion and unanimously agreed to raise no objection to the proposal.
Councillor Dawes returned to the meeting.
5.2 Application SW/07/0923.
After deliberation it was proposed by Councillor Bowling seconded Councillor Dawes that the . meeting raise no objection to the outline proposal. The motion was carried by a majority.
5.3 Application SW/07/ 0924.
After considerable discussion it was proposed by Councillor Bowling seconded Councillor Dawes and unanimously agreed that the meeting object to the proposals four main points Viz:
- The proposed storage of static caravans does not require a rural location such as this.
- The movement of the caravans and campers will lead to a unacceptable increase in traffic onto the busy A2.
- The Holiday Camp appearance would be out of keeping with the neighbouring buildings and surrounding area.
- Developement on this site would be contrary to Policy E9 of the local plan which protects the countryside.
6. Determinations by Swale Borough Council
None
7. Any other planning business.
The meeting noted information from Swale Borough Council concerning unlawful developement at, Ashly, Cellar Hill, Lynsted.
An application for planning permission had been received for Moonshine Cottage, Kingsdown Rd; Dungate. Both the above items to be placed on the agenda for the next planning meeting.
A date of Wednesday 12th September was set for the next planning meeting to be held at the Belle Friday Centre 730 pm.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.35 pm.
