Lynsted and Norton School proudly presents
Tsunami Art Auction on Friday 28th January 2005 at 2:00pm.
Both the children and staff alike have been moved by the recent, tragic Tsunami disaster. Being the caring, spirited children we have at Lynsted & Norton they have been very proactive in discussing ways in which the School and the wider community could support the million and a half children that have been affected. This is very dear to their hearts. The children have taken their ideas to their class teacher and as a staff we have discussed them and decided to amalgamate a few ideas into our special fundraising event.
On Wednesday 19th January the children and staff will all be taking part in an art day where the aim is for the children to work collaboratively in small groups to produce a piece of art work that is to be framed and then feature in the live auction. The staff will also be producing their very own masterpieces in the hope that their work might raise a few pennies from collectors with a good eye.
We will also be running a café in the afternoon for parents and visitors attending the auction. Some of the children from Oak class will also be putting on a waiting service in the hopes of being handsomely tipped.
We will be inviting all children to make and decorate a cake to sell in the café to help raise money for our Tsunami Disaster Event. A prize will be awarded to the best Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 cake design.
So, start saving your pennies, sorry pounds, practice your auction nod, twitch or wave and please do join us on Friday 28th January 2005 at 2:00pm, where you could just purchase a masterpiece of the future.
