Bat Detection and Identification Walk

Park Farm Community Cherry Orchard Project.

Bat Detection and Identification Walk, Tuesday May 22nd.

The Orchard Group has arranged for Shirley Thompson, MBE, of the Kent Bat Group, to lead a gentle walk through Lynsted village and vicinity after dusk on the evening of 22nd May. We will be stopping along a ‘likely’ route to identify bat species (there are at least four known to frequent the area) and learn something of the habits and characteristics of these charming flying mammals. Anyone interested is warmly welcome to join us at the porch of Lynsted Church at 8pm. Wear stout footwear, warm clothing and bring a torch (to find your way back!). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bat detector boxes welcome.  The walk will not occur if it is raining.
