CAB in Swale appoint new Housing Advisor

 “Everyone regardless of their age or social standing deserves a safe, secure and habitable place to live” however, many people at one time or another will get into difficulties with housing and this can be for a variety of reasons.

The CAB have recently appointed Denise Burford as a Housing Advisor. Denise will be offering advice for housing related issues Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. Initial contact and advice will be by telephone, but appointments are available if necessary.  Drop-in surgeries will also be held at various locations across the borough.

Housing problems can be complex but some examples might be;

• A change in personal circumstances
• Struggling to pay rent or mortgage, in arrears or facing eviction
• Landlord – Tenant disputes
• A need to move due to illness or disability and the current property is unsuitable
• Adaptations are necessary to remain in the current home
• Alternative housing is needed due to relationship/family breakdown

Early advice is vital and often with appropriate action many of the problems faced can be addressed.
