Community Support Officer

Lynsted with Kingsdown Parish Council

Police Community Support Officer

As many may already know, there is now a Police Community Support Officer in our midst. Her name is Karen Johnson.  She covers Lynsted with Kingsdown and Teynham parish areas.  Her job is to help tackle community problems such as anti-social behaviour and minor offences. Supporting people who have been the victims of crime is also part of her role. She wears a police-style uniform, and patrols on foot as well as moving around by police car.  Her high visibility presence aims to reassure the public. She works alongside agencies such as housing associations, highways authorities, street wardens and parking attendants, to find answers to problems within the community.  Karen is on duty four days a week and at weekends, working a shift system. She can be contacted by phoning 0777 222 6030. Messages can be left on the answering machine if she is not available. Alternatively, the police can be contacted on 01795 477 055, or dial 999 in emergencies.
