Footpath Underway

At Last! Work on the ‘Batteries Close to Bogle’ footway commences!

The Parish Council notes, with satisfaction, that, after many ups and downs and false starts,  work on creating a footway (pavement) along this very dangerous length of Lynsted Lane is finally under way. Tom English, the current chairman, and his predecessors and members, have pushed for many, many years for this much needed measure. When completed, the path will allow pedestrians, in particular parents with their children, to move along this winding, narrow and busy road in much more safety. The Parish Council is grateful to County Cllr Jean Newman, and Borough ward members Ricky Barnicott and Sylvia Butt for their persistent work in securing the funding for this, the first phase of construction. The cooperation of landowners, particularly Leslie French, is also gratefully acknowledged.

Of course the timing (out of the Parish Council’s hands) could have been better. We hope the necessary closure of the lane does not or did not  cause too much inconvenience to those attempting to get to the Lynsted Fete!
