Lynsted with Kingsdown Parish Council
has a
VACANCY!
for a Parish Councillor.
A chance to help your fellow parishioners and make a real impact!
Do you enjoy Lynsted/Kingsdown, and would like to ‘put something back’? Could you spare a little time to help to –
- Manage parish open air resources (community orchard, playing fields)?
- Improve our local environment?
- Identify the need for, and obtain, new or replacement street furniture, lighting, and other facilities?
- Influence what building developments occur in the Parish?
- Create an improved visual and traffic environment for Greenstreet?
- Meet the aspirations for our community as expressed in our recent Parish Plan?
- Contribute material to the Parish website, www.lkpc.org.uk and parish magazine?
- Organise special events, projects and celebrations?
- Allocate community funds to appropriate projects/groups in the Parish?
- To keep our network of country footpaths open?
- Maintain and improve effective financial management and working procedures?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, to any of these, we would love to hear from you! Central Government is allocating increasing powers to parish councils. So now is a good time to join the ‘Parish Council Team’, and help to make a real difference. No special training is needed – enthusiasm, common sense and a willingness to work in a group are all that is needed.
Your parish needs YOU!
Please apply, in writing, BY SEPTEMBER 19th 2008, to our Clerk, Mrs Joanne Daw, 9, Volante Drive, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 2JJ, listing your interests, how long you have lived or worked in, or near, the Parish, and what you feel you could contribute.
Do not hesitate to contact the Chairman, Bob Baxter, on 521 515, or the Vice Chairman, Frank Champion, on 522 383, for a chat about serving your community as a Parish Councillor.
